Great news for all VVIPs! Mercedes-Benz has launched the perfect car for you, the S600 Guard, which is bullet proof and can be pimped up to even grenade proof. The S600 Guard’s all-round protection gets a VR9 certification, the highest for bullet resistance in Germany. It protects the door seams, pillars, windows, the engine compartment and door handles from multiple firing rounds . The certification tests involve trying to defeat the armour in the common wear areas where rounds or round fragments have a greater chance of penetrating the interior or causing elements of the interior trim to be propelled at the occupants. The under-body also gets a complete armour package to deal with grenades or IEDs.
Other Guard-specific equipment includes a fire extinguisher, a panic alarm, and an emergency fresh-air system.
The S 600 Guard is powered by V12 petrol engine, which now generates 530 hp and therefore has even more pulling power than the engine of the preceding model. Thanks to 830 Nm of torque and the 7G-TRONIC automatic transmission, which is available with the V12 engine for the first time, the S-Guard combines lower fuel consumption with impressive acceleration for a rapid escape from the danger zone when under threat. For weight reasons the top speed is electronically limited to 210 kmph.
There are no compromises in the comfort department, as the S600 Guard has all of the features available in a regular S-Class. It’s basically it is a luxurious bunker on wheels.
