New MG3 Hybrid Revealed with 192BHP at Geneva Motor Show

At the ongoing Geneva Motor Show, the all-new MG3 with a hybrid powertrain has made its grand debut. The model comes equipped with several features including 10.25-inch infotainment, heated front seats, ADAS, and more.

The all-new MG3 has been unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show with a hybrid drivetrain. The car has increased in size, measuring 1,790mm in width, 1,502mm in height, and 4,113mm in length. It weighs 1,285 kg and has a wheelbase of 2,570mm. The MG vehicle is available in seven exterior hues including Cosmic Silver, Pastel Yellow, Pebble Black, Dover White, Diamond Red, Hampstead Grey, and Como Blue. With 293 litres of cargo space, the new model is more spacious than the previous version. MG developed the new 3 at their Shanghai studio, showcasing a wider and more elegant profile that embodies a global style, demonstrating their commitment to excellence and modernity. New MG3 Hybrid: Powertrain

In contrast to the previous-gen MG3, the new model is only offered as a hybrid. It has an electric motor and a 1.5-litre gasoline engine that together provide 192bhp of power. In addition, the car accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in just 8 seconds, outperforming competitors like the Clio and the Yaris. The vehicle includes a 3-speed automatic transmission and claims a top speed of 170km/h.

According to MG, the new 3 will have significantly lower CO2 emissions at 100g/km and deliver a fuel efficiency of 27.2km/l, which is over 8.50km/l more than the previous model. Furthermore, the model features five drive modes (EV, Series, Drive and Charge, Standard, and Parallel), which are automatically picked up by the car's hybrid+ technology. The three driving modes Eco, Standard, and Sport are also offered.

The new MG3 hybrid boasts some striking design features such as big bumper intakes, reworked headlamps, and a sharp nose. It also comes equipped with horizontally oriented taillamps, a slim rear bumper, and newly designed alloy rims. The car's interior layout is similar to the MG4 EV and European buyers can choose from three configurations: Standard, Comfort, and Luxury. Other notable bits include the 7-inch digital instrument cluster, 10.25-inch infotainment, heated front seats, leather-style upholstery, keyless entry, flat-bottomed multifunction steering wheel, and others. The vehicle is equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) for further safety. It offers features such as traffic jam assistance, lane keep assist, front collision detection, adaptive cruise control, and lane departure warning, among others.
