Renault appears to be accelerating its product renewal strategy in India, with camouflaged prototypes of the facelifted Kiger and Triber recently spotted on public roads. These test sightings suggest that the French carmaker is preparing a series of updates aimed at refreshing its compact vehicle range, ahead of the revamped Duster and the upcoming Bigster SUV entering the scene. Though the vehicles were heavily disguised, let us look at certain elements from the latest round of spy photos that hint at what is to come.
Starting with the Kiger, the SUV seems to retain its familiar triple-chamber LED reflector headlights, indicating no changes in the main lighting design. A first for the model, however, is the addition of fog lamps, something absent even in the top-of-the-line variants of the outgoing version. These units might incorporate cornering lights for better visibility around turns.

At the rear, both test mules feature temporary-looking, squared-off LED taillamps. While clearly placeholder elements, they suggest a shift in rear lighting design, with the final production versions likely adopting more conventional shapes. Between the two, the Kiger’s taillights appear slightly larger and more defined than those seen on the Triber test model.
As far as the powertrain is concerned, the updated Kiger and Triber are expected to carry over the engine options from the outgoing models.
The Kiger is currently available with two engine options: a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.0-litre turbo petrol. The former option puts out 72bhp, while the latter produces 100bhp of maximum power. Both manual and automatic transmissions are on offer.

The Triber, on the other hand, is powered by a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine, capable of delivering 72bhp of peak power and 96Nm of maximum torque. For transmission, you can choose between a five-speed manual or an AMT option.
