Ahead of the Curvv.ev's launch in India, Tata Motors is putting the electric car through rigorous testing. The upcoming model has been spied testing once more, this time at a charging station. The electrified Curvv will come in as the Indian automaker's next major product launch in the country. Both an EV and an ICE version of the Curvv will be available for purchase; the EV model will debut in the second half of this year, and the ICE one will follow a few months later. For those who are unaware, the concept form of the Tata Curvv was showcased in 2022, before the petrol-powered version made its debut at the 2023 Auto Expo. Notably, a few months ago, the Curvv in its production-spec avatar was unveiled at the first-ever Bharat Mobility Global Expo. The latest spy shots of the EV reveal some interesting details. Let's take a look.

Tata Curvv EV: Key Details

The positioning of the charging port on Tata Motors' upcoming electric vehicle is the most noteworthy aspect of the spy photo. The Curvv.ev will have a charging outlet on the front, beneath the LED light bar, just like the new Punch.ev. The Tata Motors branding will also be present on the flap. The charging outlets for the firm's other EVs are located on the left rear fender.

Under the clamshell-shaped hood, a full-width LED light bar, a split LED headlamp cluster, a prominent lower grille portion with several vertical slats, squared-off wheel arches, and a highly raked front windshield are all visible on the front fascia. The Tata Curvv EV's coupe-like roofline will be one of its main design features. Some more exterior elements comprise sporty-looking alloy wheels, full-width LED tail lamps, and a roomy boot. The forthcoming Hyundai Creta EV, Maruti Suzuki eVX, Citroen Basalt EV, and its Toyota sibling are some of the competitors of the midsize SUV coupe. It will be the second Tata model to be developed on the Acti.ev platform.

Tata Curvv EV: Interior and Safety Features

The spy photos also showed the interior of the Curvv.ev, although they don't provide much information. According to the images, the Curvv.ev will include a large 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, a two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo, and a digital instrument cluster. Other comfort features that might be a part of the model include Level 2 ADAS, automatic air conditioning, a 360-degree camera system, a wireless smartphone charger, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, automatic climate control, and capacitive controls.

It is further expected to have six airbags, a 360-degree camera, and front and rear parking sensors to ensure passenger safety. Additionally, the automaker may choose to add advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) to the Curvv, like autonomous emergency braking and adaptive cruise control (AEB).

Tata Curvv EV: Mechanical Specs

Tata Motors has not yet revealed the Curvv.ev's specifications. It did, however, mention that the model will have a range of approximately 500 kilometers on a single charge. The brand-new EV will likely incorporate a variety of powertrain and battery pack configurations. The Curvv.ev is set to go on sale later this year. Its launch will be followed by that of the Harrier EV, which was recently showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo. On the outside, the Harrier EV appears remarkably identical to the ICE version; however, it does have several EV-specific features that set it apart.
