Volvo V60 Cross Country – the latest station wagon from the ‘safest’ car manufacturer will be based on the S60 sedan and will be launched at the Log Angeles Motor Show starting from November 18.

Volvo – the Swedish luxury car manufacturer – has revealed its latest offering to the world of automobiles. Welcome the new V60 – the latest station wagon to arrive from Volvo. The car will be based on the good looking Volvo S60, and should hit the Indian market too sometime next year. The V40 is already present in India and we see no reason why the V60 won’t be seen in India sometime soon.

The car will be a driver’s delight in all weather conditions, and hence, will come with all-wheel drive mechanism. Front and rear skid plates, side scuff plates, twin exhausts at the rear all make it look very impressive.
The front-wheel driven variants will be powered by the new Drive-E four-cylinder diesel engines – D3 and D4. D3 is Volvo’s way of calling an engine that is a two-litre, four-cylinder turbodiesel which delivers 134bhp of maximum power; add some more power to it and it becomes D4 which is capable of producing 179bhp of maximum power. The AWD variants of the Volvo V60 Cross Country will be powered by the T5 petrol and D4 diesel five-cylinder engines. Every Volvo V60 will come with Hill Descent as a standard feature.

Not much has been said by Volvo on the new V60, but the full details and the prices are expected to be released at the Las Angles Motor Show that starts in almost 10 days from now.
