Bajaj Auto Records 31% Year-on-Year Total Domestic Sales Growth in January

In the two-wheeler segment, Bajaj Auto sold a total of 1,93,350 units in January 2024, exhibiting a significant year-on-year growth of 36%.

In the domestic market, Bajaj Auto reported selling a total of 2,30,043 units (2Ws and CVs), up 31% YoY from 1,75,210 units sold in the same period last year. The firm further reported sales of 1,25,967 vehicles in the export category, showing a 12% increase over the 1,12,725 models shipped in January 2023. Talking about the segment sales, Bajaj's local deliveries of two-wheelers rose by 36% YoY to 1,93,350 units in January 2024 from 1,42,368 units sold the previous year. It sent 1,14,898 2Ws abroad, registering an increase of 14% from the previous year. Overall, the sales of two-wheelers reached 3,08,248 units in January this year, highlighting a 27% increase from 2,43,047 units sold in the same month in 2023. Bajaj Auto January Sales: Commercial Segment 

Bajaj disclosed selling 36,693 CVs in the domestic market last month, up 12% from the 32,842 units supplied in January 2023. In contrast, it experienced a decrease of 8% in sales while shipping 11,069 units abroad, as compared to 12,046 units sent in January last year. Regarding CV sales as a whole, the automaker saw a 6% increase, from 44,888 units supplied during the same time last year to 47,762 units delivered in January 2024.

Bajaj December 2023 Sales: A Quick Rundown

Bajaj's cumulative sales surged by 16% to 3,26,806 units in December 2023. This sales figure is inclusive of both CVs and 2Ws. The company witnessed a 28% year-over-year rise in the domestic division, delivering 1,90,919 units. Its global shipments, on the other hand, climbed by 2% to 1,35,887 units. Bajaj's 2W category had a 26% increase in the domestic market. In December 2023, the company sold 1,58,370 2Ws domestically, up from 1,25,553 in December 2022.

The worldwide shipments of two-wheelers surged modestly to 1,24,631 units from 1,21,499 units in December 2022, demonstrating a 3% year-over-year growth. All in all, Bajaj's total two-wheeler deliveries reached 2,83,001 units in December, marking a 15% year-on-year growth from the 2,47,052 units sold in the same period in 2022.
