Tata Motors, India’s leading automobile manufacturer, has inaugurated its fifth Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility (RVSF), near Delhi. Named Re.Wi.Re—Recycle with Respect, the facility comes as part of the company's plan to open at least one such facility in each state. It will scrap passenger and commercial vehicles of all brands that have reached the end of their lifecycle while focusing on utilising environmentally friendly processes. Tata Motors says the plant can disassemble 18,000 end-of-life vehicles per year.

The fifth facility was inaugurated by Mr. Girish Wagh, Executive Director, Tata Motors. Wagh said, "The launch of our fifth scrapping facility marks a significant step forward in making sustainable practices and responsible vehicle disposal more accessible. Creating value from scrap aligns with our vision of building a circular economy. It also contributes to the Government's efforts to promote sustainable automotive practices. This state-of-the-art facility will set new benchmarks in disposing of vehicles responsibly and pave the way towards a cleaner, more sustainable future for all."

Developed in partnership with Johar Motors, the RVSF is fully digitalised and has dedicated cell-type and line-type dismantling areas for commercial vehicles and passenger vehicles, respectively. There are also dedicated stations for the safe dismantling of various components, such as tyres, batteries, fuel, oils, liquids, and gases. Each vehicle goes through a meticulous documentation and dismantling process designed to meet the requirements of passenger and commercial vehicles. The dismantling process, according to Tata Motors, ensures maximum attention to detail, guaranteeing the safe disposal of all components in adherence to the vehicle scrappage policy.

Other than the recently inaugurated facility, the company has Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facilities in Jaipur, Bhubaneshwar, Surat, and Chandigarh.
