About Datsun Cars

Datsun is an automotive brand owned by Nissan. Its original production run began in 1931 when the company name was changed from DAT Jidosha Seizo to Datson. It was to represent the term 'son of DAT'. Later, when Nissan took the reins of the company in 1934, the moniker was finally changed to Datsun.

Datsun is known for making car models such as the 240Z, the 510 sedan and the Fairlady coupes. In 1981, after selling 20 million cars in 190 countries, the brand was phased out to promote the Nissan name. However, the brand was revived in 2012 to represent the small, economic models. Since then, all Datsun cars have been best known in the economic segment.
