2024 Yamaha Tenere 700 with TFT Screen and ABS Modes Unveiled Globally

The 2024 Yamaha Tenere 700 is offered in two colour options – Team Yamaha Blue and Shadow Grey. It is available at a sticker price of  $10,799 in the US (roughly Rs 8.88 lakh, ex-showroom).

For the model year 2024, the Yamaha Tenere 700 has been upgraded with some aesthetic changes as well as new features. The Tenere 700 from the stable of Yamaha is a very popular middle-weight adventure motorcycle in the international market. Priced at $10,799 in the US market, the 2024 version is offered in two colour options, which are Team Yamaha Blue and Shadow Grey. The bike will go on sale in the European market from September onwards. And as far as the Indian market is concerned, Yamaha has no plans to launch this motorcycle here. As of now, the Indian arm of the Japanese manufacturer is preparing to bring the 2023 versions of the YZF-R3 and the MT-03 by the end of this year to the country, followed by the YZF-R7, the MT-07, and the MT-09 in 2024.

2024 Yamaha Tenere 700: New Features

The 2024 Yamaha Tenere 700 features a new instrument cluster. A new 5.0-inch colour TFT display offers count-down trip meters and two different themes - a modern layout and a retro-analogue theme. The features can be accessed through a new scrolling dial on the right handlebar. In addition, the bike also comes with Yamaha Y-Connect smartphone connectivity that works in union with the Y-Connect app. With the help of the Y-Connect, riders can view incoming text and phone notifications on the instrument cluster. Not limited to this, the application can also track and record ride data, including distance covered, fuel consumption, top speed, etc.

Coming to its electronic bits, the updated Tenere 700 for the international market comes equipped with three ABS modes, enabling riders to choose their preferred braking intervention level. Mode 1 has full ABS activation at both ends, Mode 2 disables the ABS on the rear wheel, and Mode 3 turns off the ABS at both ends. On offer is also a factory-fitted quick-shifter, but it is optional at the time of purchase. Last but not least, there are LED turn indicators at the front and back.

2024 Yamaha Tenere 700: Technical Bits

Powering the 2024 Tenere 700 is a 698cc, inline, twin-cylinder engine that is sourced from the Yamaha MT-07. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. In terms of hardware, the motorcycle features a 43mm fully-adjustable upside-down fork at the front and a preload- and rebound-adjustable mono-shock at the back.

Braking duties are carried out by dual 282mm hydraulic discs at the front and a 245mm hydraulic disc at the rear. The bike sits on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR rubber tyres.
