2023 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V vs Old Model: Engine

The new Xtreme 160R 4V features an OBD-2 (BS6.2) compliant, 4-valve, 163cc engine, which is a substantial upgrade over the old BS6 and 2-valve engine. It, therefore, represents the most notable revision. This improvement conduces to an increase in power and a pleasant riding experience, as per the manufacturer. Further, as opposed to the 15bhp of maximum power and 14Nm of the previous generation, the updated version churns out 16.6bhp of peak power at 8,500rpm and 14.6Nm of maximum torque at 6,500rpm.

The Standard and Connect continue to have telescopic front forks, in contrast to the earlier model, which depended on them. Both the old and new models, nevertheless, still use the same monoshock configuration.

As already stated, three versions of the new Xtreme 160R 4V are offered: Standard, Connect, and Pro. The cost of the standard model has increased by about Rs 5,000. 2023 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V vs Old Model: Feature and Design Updates

On the feature front, while the Xtreme 160R's LCD console hasn't altered much, the Connected and Pro models now offer Bluetooth connectivity, which was earlier only available on the previous model's Stealth version. The revised switchgear, the headlight's mild revamp, and the split seat are a few other small design changes in the new model. The split seat, however, is an optional feature for all variants and is only offered with the Pro model. The previous model had only a one-piece seat as an option. In general, the new Hero Xtreme 160R 4V stands out thanks to an improved engine, more power and torque, an upside-down suspension for better handling, and the addition of dual-channel ABS. Although there has been a modest price rise, the new model justifies its greater cost with a number of upgrades that provide for a more thrilling riding experience.
