Honda finally launched the Shine 100, a brand-new 100cc commuter motorcycle, in India after much anticipation. Currently, the bikemaker is taking reservations for the new Shine. Production is set to begin next month, with deliveries beginning in May of this year. The new Honda Shine is covered by 12 patents, many of which are firsts in this market. It comes with a three-year standard warranty as well as a three-year optional extended warranty from the two-wheeler manufacturer. With the arrival of the all-new Shine 100, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has entered the 100cc motorcycle market. Priced at Rs 64,900 (ex-showroom), the new 2023 Honda Shine 100 will directly compete with the Hero Splendor Plus. The cost of the Honda Shine 100, which comes in just one variant, is Rs 64,900. On the other hand, the Hero Splendor Plus is available in a variety of trim levels, including the top-of-the-line, feature-rich XTEC trim, and its prices range from Rs 72,076 to Rs 76,346. A 99.7cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine that produces 7.6bhp and 8.05Nm of peak torque powers the Honda Shine 100. On the other hand, the Hero Splendor Plus comes with a 97.2cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected motor that churns out 7.9bhp of maximum power and 8.05Nm of peak torque. These two motorcycles each have a 4-speed manual transmission. Additionally, depending on the usage, they ought to provide a real-world mileage of 60 to 70km/l. The Hero Splendor Plus and the new Honda Shine 100 both have dual spring-loaded rear shock absorbers and telescopic front forks. Drum brakes at each end, with a combined braking system as standard, perform the braking functions.
