New Ducati Streetfighter V4, V4 S: Engine

The all-new Ducati Streetfighter features the familiar 1,103cc V4 liquid-cooled Desmosedici Stradale engine, mated to a six-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch. The engine produces a maximum power of 205bhp at 13,000rpm and a peak torque of 123Nm at 9,500rpm. The unit also comes with a bi-directional quick-shifter. Ducati claims that to lower exhaust back pressure, the engine has been adjusted to match the greater diameter of the silencer output. Additionally, a Panigale V4 clutch cover has been fitted to the right side of the engine.

The Streetfighter V4 S model comes with more expensive Ohlins NIX30 front forks and an Ohlins TTX36 mono-shock, both of which are electronically adjustable. The standard model, on the other hand, features completely adjustable Showa Big Piston front forks and a Sachs mono-shock at the back. The bike's braking system consists of two 330mm front discs and one 245mm rear disc with dual-channel ABS.

New Ducati Streetfighter V4, V4 S: Electronics and Features

The new Streetfighter V4 features impressive cutting-edge technology and comes with four power modes – Full, High, Medium, and Low. For the High and Medium settings, the manufacturer has released a new ride map with specific gear calibration, while the Full and Low settings are completely new. To increase safety in low-grip situations, the bike now comes with a new Wet mode. It also includes a lithium-ion battery, which is 1.7kg lighter than that of the previous model. Some of the notable highlights of the bike include wheelie control, slide control, repositioned swingarm pivot (4mm higher than before, specifically V4 S), cornering ABS EVO, traction control, engine brake control, and auto tyre calibration.

The Streetfighter V4 from Ducati features 17-inch alloy wheels, while the top-end V4 S model features aluminium wheels. These are mounted on Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa 2 tyres, which measure 120/70 front and 200/60 rear.
