The facelifted third generation Skoda Octavia has been on sale in Europe since 2016.

Skoda India has launched the facelifted version of the Octavia in India, with prices ranging from Rs.15.49 lakhs - Rs. 22.89 lakhs (ex-showroom pan-India).

On the outside, the most striking change made to the 2017 Skoda Octavia facelift is in the form of new headlamps. The new split-unit quad headlamps give the Octavia a distinct character and are guaranteed to divide opinions. The Octavia will also feature Skoda’s new grille that accommodates the protruding centre section of the bonnet, complete with its glossy finish. Other styling changes include a new bonnet, a chrome applique on the front bumper, a revised rear bumper, new alloy wheels and new LED tail lamps.

Interiors also get a refresh in the form of a gloss black finish which dominates the centre console. There is a new 8-inch infotainment system on the inside with smartphone connectivity with touch-sensitive capacitive controls surrounding it. The steering wheel and the instrument cluster are also new. The updated cabin incorporates slightly better equipment – two USB ports for rear passengers to connect to the infotainment system via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with new ambient lighting system with multiple colour options.

The 2017 Skoda Octavia continues to be powered by the trio of capable powertrains from the pre-facelift model – 1.4TSI, 1.8TSI and 2.0TDI. However, the 1.8TSI version now features a 30mm wider rear track for its reworked multilink suspension setup. The other two versions get a 20mm wider rear track with torsion beam setup. This aside, the car remains mechanically identical to the outgoing model.
