Auto Expo 2023: Test mules of the upgraded Harrier and the 2023 Tata Safari have been spotted several times on Indian roads. And now, the carmaker has officially unveiled the much-anticipated Tata Harrier EV at the Expo 2023. The new Tata Harrier is anticipated to go on sale in the middle of 2023. The electric SUV will now feature modern technology, stylistic changes, and interior upgrades. However, the main improvement on the model will be the introduction of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System). Based on the Gen 2 platform, the new Tata Harrier EV will be an AWD car, which means that it will have a dual-motor setup. In comparison to the Gen 1 design, on which the Tata Nexon EV is built, the Gen 2 platform will provide a better range and increased power to the new Tata Harrier EV.  At the event, the company also shared its three-platform EV strategy, which will include a customized EV platform (Sigma/Gen 2), a repurposed ICE platform, and a skateboard (Born Electric/Gen 3) platform.

In terms of styling, the Tata Harrier EV will have a number of other EV-specific features. Along with connected LED DRLs, an illuminated Tata logo, a new vertically slated bumper, distinctive alloy wheels, linked LED tail lamps, and a modified bumper, it will also get a new set of DRLs. However, the overall form and appearance are remarkably similar to the SUV's diesel-powered version. Additionally, the interior gets EV-specific improvements, such as a larger touchscreen infotainment system with extra functionality for linked cars. The EV is equipped with ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) and a 360-degree camera for safety.

The Tata Harrier EV is expected to have a price of Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom). It is most likely to serve as a rival to the upcoming Mahindra XUV.E8 (electric XUV700) and as a more significant alternative to vehicles like the MG ZS EV and the BYD Atto 3.

At the Auto Expo 2023, the Tata Avinya EV concept made its debut with the Curvv EV concept. The front end will have a uniquely shaped grille, thin headlamps, a full-width LED light bar, resembling a stretched-out 'T' emblem, and a splitter. The side profile of the concept has a glass roof, blacked-out A-pillars, and more. In terms of size, the Tata Avinya EV concept is smaller than the Tata Harrier. The concept has a length of 4300mm, but once transformed into a production-spec figure, its length might change.
