Homegrown automaker Bajaj has announced plans to export the Qute quadricycle to 16 countries across Asia, Africa, Latin America and Europe.

Earlier christened as the RE60, the Qute is powered by an all-new water-cooled, four-valve engine that has produces 13.5 PS of power and a maximum speed of 70km/hr. It has an impressive mileage of 36km/l

Bajaj claims the carbon emissions from Qute at just 66 gm/km. That's why it has become the first Indian-made quadricycle to meet the European norms and get WVTA certificate from RDW Netherlands.

Speaking at the occasion, Mr Rakesh Sharma, President, International Business, Bajaj Auto said, “Over the years, the Bajaj RE has become a part of the social fabric in many countries. Apart from being an effective last mile transportation solution it also provides employment to millions. With Qute, we are now raising the bar and ushering in a new solution of transportation that is cleaner. safer and more comfortable. Our partners across Asia, Africa, Latin America and Europe are excited about the growth opportunities that Qute can bring to us.”

Bajaj is awaiting a verdict from the Supreme Court to launch this vehicle in India. Only then we can have a word on its pricing.

Once launched, Bajaj may replace the auto-rickshaw with the Qute.
