BMW 740d M Sport, and First-ever i7 M70 xDrive Launched in India; Price Starts at Rs 1.81 Crore

BMW has introduced the 740d M Sport and the first-ever i7 M70 xDrive in India with price tags of Rs 1.81 Crore and 2.50 Crore, respectively. Both are ex-showroom figures.

BMW has launched the 740d M Sport diesel variant of the BMW 7 Series, as well as the first-ever i7 M70 xDrive in India. The BMW 740d M Sport costs Rs 1.81 crore, while the first-ever BMW i7 M70 xDrive is priced at Rs 2.50 crore. Both are ex-showroom Pan India figures. In terms of aesthetics, the all-new diesel model of the BMW 7 series includes the base model's characteristics. LED DRLs with BMW Crystal Lights as well as Swarovski crystals, and an illuminated kidney grille are among the BMW 7 series's diesel model's exterior parts. The first-ever BMW i7 M70 xDrive, on the other hand, sports dual-tone exterior paint, a BMW kidney grille with an M symbol, as well as a number of additional M-specific stylistic components. A black M rear spoiler, a black accent strip between the rear lights, and a black inlay for the rear apron are included in its standard M Performance package. BMW 740d M Sport, i7 M70 xDrive: Mechanical Details

The new BMW 740d M Sport's 3.0-litre six-cylinder diesel mill produces 282bhp and 650Nm. With this performance setup, the BMW 7 series's new diesel variant claims to go from 0 to 100km/h in 6 seconds and attain a top speed of 250km/h. The luxury automaker claims that this diesel engine housed in the car combines maximum power with exceptional efficiency to deliver spontaneous responsiveness even at low engine speeds because of the BMW TwinPower Turbo technology. 

Coming to the i7 M70 xDrive, the model gets a dual-motor arrangement and a 101.7kWh battery with a stated range of up to 560 kilometre. According to the luxury firm, these motors have been calibrated to generate a combined power output of 657bhp and an astounding 1,100Nm of torque. With this capability, the EV claims an acceleration time of 0-100km/h in 3.7 seconds and an electronically controlled top speed of 250km/h.

The BMW 7 series all-new diesel variant comes with adaptive air suspension, soft-close doors, four-zone climate control, and a 31.3-inch screen for second-row passengers, as well as an M Sport styling package, automated tailgate, and comfort access system. On the other hand, the electric model includes a multi-zone climate control system, gesture control, a wireless charger, a Bowers and Wilkins music system with 36 speakers, a 31.3-inch 8K retractable touchscreen for rear passengers, 5.5-inch touchscreen control panels on rear doors, six airbags, and a driver assistance system.

Other interior characteristics of the BMW i7 M70 xDrive include a piano Black motif with silver stitching, M Merino Leather trim in Black or Atlas Grey upholstery, illuminated M door sills, M-specific footrest, and M leather steering wheel.

BMW 740d M Sport, i7 M70 xDrive: Price and Availability 

The BMW 740d M Sport and the first-ever i7 M70 xDrive are priced at Rs 1.81 crore and Rs 2.50 crore, respectively. These are ex-showroom prices. Both vehicles will be available for purchase beginning today at all authorized BMW Indian dealerships. The BMW 740d M Sport has been produced locally at the brand's Group Plant, while the i7 M70 xDrive has made an entry into our market as a CBU model.
