Honda recalls 2013 model year City, Jazz and Accord

As part of the latest Takata airbag recall, 22,834 units of the City, Jazz and Accord manufactured in the 2013 model year.

The Takata airbag recall strikes again, this time in the case of Honda in India with the models affected by the recall being 2013 model year examples of the Jazz premium hatchback, City mid-size sedan and Accord D-segment saloon. As part of the global recall initiative, Honda Car India in this phase will replace the faulty airbag mechanism in 22,084 units of the City, 510 units of the Accord and 240 units of the Jazz. This takes the tally of recalled vehicles in this phase up to 22,834 units.

“HCIL will voluntarily replace Takata passenger front airbag inflators of 22,834 vehicles of 2013 model of Accord, City and Jazz as part of Honda’s precautionary global recall campaign concerning Takata front airbag inflators. The replacement will be carried out free of cost at HCIL dealerships across India in a phased manner starting immediately,” the company said in an official statement.

Takata defective airbags fitted to millions of cars worldwide over the years has resulted in a vehicle recall size spanning the entire globe and its going to be a while before the issue is resolved.

For now, customers who may have any of the vehicles mentioned above the 2013 model year can check if their cars are affected by the recall by clicking here and going to the Honda Car India website and entering the chassis number of their car.
