Luxury vans have been becoming increasingly popular, not just in India, but in many international markets as well. At the Japan Mobility Show 2025, Nissan has revealed the production-spec fourth-generation Nissan Elgrand ahead of its domestic launch that is scheduled to take place in 2026. The new Elgrand looks significantly different from the third-generation model, and comes with a petrol-hybrid powertrain.
The silhouette of the new Nissan Elgrand looks quite similar to that of the Toyota Vellfire. It gets pixelated styling for the front end, with small lights that blend into the grille. The bonnet features ‘ELGRAND’ lettering, while the tailgate displays ‘NISSAN’. The rear lights have also been done in a pixelated fashion. The MPV gets sliding rear doors, and the pixelated theme is also carried over to the 18-inch alloy wheels.

Inside the cabin, you captain chairs with ottomans in the second row, just as you would expect from a van like this. There’s a third row of seats, too, and the dashboard features twin-14.3-inch screens for infotainment and instrumentation, along with a mix of touch-based controls and physical buttons.

You can get a 22-speaker Bose sound system as an option, ADAS functionalities, ambient lighting, wireless smartphone chargers, and more.

Nissan has put in its third-generation hybrid setup inside the Elgrand with an electric four-wheel drive system. The four-wheel drive system is not onboard for off-road usability, rather for reducing body movement and thus, enhancing comfort. Exact specifications of the powertrain are yet to be revealed.
