The production model of the Renault 5 E-Tech Electric made its global debut at the 2024 Geneva Motor Show. The electric hot hatch honours the iconic Renault 5 and has a look that is nearly identical to the concept that was unveiled in 2021. Based on the new AmpR Small architecture, the car costs about 25,000 euros, or roughly Rs 22.50 lakh for the entry-level version. While introducing the new electrified hatchback, Fabrice Cambolive, CEO of the Renault brand, stated, ‘’ The Renault 5 E-Tech electric is a design masterstroke, a new brain with cutting-edge technologies and electric legs based on a new-generation platform that is unique in Europe: AmpR Small.’’ It's vital to note that the Renault 5 E-Tech has just made its global debut. At the moment, there is no information about the car's availability in India. The French automaker's lineup in India only includes the Kwid, Triber, and Kiger models, with no electric vehicles available. If you're interested in learning more about the new Renault 5 E-Tech, read on.

Renault 5 E Tech Interior 1

The interior of the R5 E-Tech Electric is a modern take on the classic model, with a mix of vibrant hues and nostalgic accents. The carmaker has employed recycled and bio-sourced materials to create modern textiles for the cabin. Among other features, the vehicle has a 10.1-inch touchscreen central screen that works with a digital instrument panel. The company claims that in addition to the new AI-enabled digital assistant called ‘Reno’, the OpenR Link infotainment system, powered by Google, can support more than 50 apps and services. The hatchback has a trunk size of 326 litres, and a towing capacity of 500 kg. Moreover, it offers a 5-seat configuration, according to the automaker.

Renault 5 E-Tech: Powertrain

There will be two distinct battery packs available for the R5 E-Tech Electric: a 40kWh and a larger 52kWh. To reduce weight, the nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) batteries utilized in these packs are grouped into sizable, square-shaped modules. As a result of this, the car weights 1,372 kg with the standard 40kWh battery and 1,449 kg with the larger 52kWh battery. According to Renault, the 40kWh model has a range of 300 kilometres, while the 52kWh model has a range of 400 kilometres. DC fast charging at 80kW and 100kW, respectively, is compatible with the batteries. Additionally, the vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology is supported by the model.

Additionally, there are three motor outputs available for the EV: 94bhp, 121bhp, and 147bhp. The mid-option is expected to hit 100km/h in eight seconds.
