Tata Safari Red Dark Edition

The Safari Red Dark Edition, which comes in two variations—the seven and the six-seater—has been revealed by Tata Motors. The car is priced ex-showroom at Rs 22.61 lakh for the former and Rs 22.71 lakh for the latter. The automaker is known for launching limited editions like the Dark Edition and the Kaziranga Edition, but the key distinction in the new lineup is that it includes brand-new safety features like the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). Additionally, the 2-litre diesel engine complies with BS6 Phase 2. At Tata Motors dealerships, reservations can now be made for a nominal fee of Rs 30,000.

The limited edition Safari, which keeps with the Dark theme, is entirely black, but to further set it apart, the SUV has red accents on the Piano Black front grille. The 18-inch alloy wheels on the Red Dark Safari are still present, but they are Charcoal Black and feature red brake callipers.

Both the Red Dark Edition trims, the XZ+/XZA+ and the XZA+ (O), are built on the top-of-the-line standard Safari and are loaded with safety equipment like six airbags and a 360-degree camera. The most significant improvement is the first-ever installation of ADAS in a Tata vehicle. The ADAS suite includes lane departure warning, blind spot detection, rear cross-traffic alerts, traffic sign recognition, forward and rear collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, and many other features.

Tata Motors upgraded the standard Safari's infotainment system to a 10.25-inch screen. Previously, the standard Safari had an 8.8-inch floating display, but the company has now updated the regular range as well. The Safari Red Dark Edition receives a completely new digital instrument cluster with a 7-inch multi-information display. It still has a JBL 9-speaker system, a panoramic sunroof, a wireless phone charger, ventilated first and second rows, a 6-way powered driver's seat, and a 4-way electrically adjustable front passenger's seat, among other things. As a limited edition model, the Safari's dashboard is all black, with Piano Black accents on the steering wheel, door handles, and centre console. The Red Dark Edition Safari adds quilted leather upholstery in Carnelian red to the cabin, and the headrests feature the #Dark logo.

The Safari Red Dark is powered by a 2-litre diesel engine that produces 168bhp and 350Nm of torque. The engine comes from Fiat and is used in models like the Jeep Compass, the Meridian, and the MG Hector. Both the 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic transmissions are retained in the Safari Red Dark. The SUV comes with a three-year or one-lakh-kilometre warranty as standard.

Tata Harrier Red Dark Edition

The starting price for the Tata Harrier Red Dark edition is Rs 21.77 lakh (ex-showroom). Various new features have been introduced, such as a larger touchscreen with connected car technology and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

The Harrier Red Dark edition's mechanical specifications have not changed, but the company's entire SUV lineup now complies with BS6 phase-2 and E20 standards. A 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine that produces 170bhp and 350Nm of maximum torque powers it. Both a 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission are included with the engine.
