Next month, India will witness the launch of highly awaited four-wheelers such as the Volvo C40 Recharge, the Honda Elevate, and the Aston Martin DB12. For car enthusiasts, the excitement of driving and discovering new vehicles is unparalleled. On September 4, Volvo will launch the C40 Recharge in the country, and bookings will start the following day on September 5. The vehicle will sit on a compact modular architecture (CMA) platform and is anticipated to feature a 78kWh (gross) battery pack, with a 245.5bhp motor on the back axle and a 157bhp motor on the front. The combined power output of the electric motors is expected to be 402bhp and 660Nm. According to WLTP standards, the AWD model has a range of 530 kilometers on a single charge and can reach a top speed of 180 km/h, with the ability to go from 0 to 100km/h in just 4.7 seconds.

The C40 Recharge is expected to have a variety of features, including a 13-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, a panoramic sunroof, two-zone climate control, a 12.3-inch fully digital driver display, an in-cabin air purifier, two Type-C USB ports, a 360-degree camera, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), seven airbags, ADAS, and more. The model is anticipated to cost a bit more than the XC40 Recharge, which has an introductory price of Rs 56.90 lakh (ex-showroom).

There is a lot of speculation that Honda India will officially announce the price of the Elevate on September 4. For Rs 21,000, the car manufacturer is now accepting pre-orders for the SUV, which, when it is released, will compete with models like the Hyundai Creta, the Kia Seltos, the Volkswagen Taigun, the Skoda Kushaq, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and others. 

The brand-new SUV's heart is a 1.5-litre NA petrol motor that also propels the Honda City. The automaker states the aforementioned engine has been tweaked to crank out a maximum of 119bhp and an ultimate torque of 145Nm. The arrangement includes two gearbox options: a CVT or a six-speed manual gearbox. The petrol manual model claims a fuel efficiency of 15.31km/l, whereas the petrol CVT variant offers a fuel economy of 16.92km/l. These ARAI-certified fuel economy estimates may vary depending on driving conditions, the manufacturer adds.

The all-new Honda Elevate comes equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, electric sunroof, wireless phone charger, automatic climate control, and more features. It also includes six airbags, rear parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and electronic stability control for safety. The available features for the SUV vary depending on the different variants. This upcoming car by Honda is predicted to have an ex-showroom starting cost of approximately Rs 11 lakh. Once it is released, it will face off with cars like the Hyundai Creta and the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, among others.

Next month, Aston Martin, the well-known British car manufacturer, will launch the highly anticipated DB12 in India. This car boasts a hand-built, 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 Mercedes-AMG engine that can deliver a maximum power of 680bhp and a peak torque of 800Nm, which is 34% more than the DB11's V8. It can go from 0 to 100km/h in only 3.5 seconds and asserts a top speed of 325km/h. The increase in power is due to modified cam profiles, altered compression ratios, bigger turbochargers, and improved cooling.

The upcoming model from the renowned British automaker will come with an array of features including a sizeable driver display, built-in navigation, a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system designed in-house with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Bowers and Wilkins sound system, and driver-assist software. Deliveries of the DB12 are set to begin in the third quarter of this year, according to the manufacturer. Further, the expected price for the vehicle before personalization options is around Rs 4 crore (ex-showroom).
