To start with, Volkswagen India and Orix will be offering the leasing services in only six metropolitans: Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad & Bengaluru.

Volkswagen and Orix India have joined hands to offer car leasing solutions to discerning VW customers in the country. With the leasing trend steadily growing over the past few years, more and more carmakers seem to be interested in offering their products via the leasing route - an option gaining popularity among new-age entrepreneurs, salaried individuals and other corporate professionals. Further, Orix India also announced a similar tie-up with Honda Cars India in September 2019.

As mentioned above, VW India will offer retail leasing solutions (only through its Corporate Business Centres) in just six Indian metropolitans to start with, and more cities will be included in the program in the following months. However, VW is yet to announce whether all its models or only select ones will be brought under the ambit of the new leasing programme.

As for the tariffs, monthly lease plans will start with rentals from ₹ 17,647 and customers can avail the leasing offer from a minimum period of two years to a maximum period of four years. To provide a hassle-free experience, VW India's leasing plans will include the cost of insurance, its 4EVER Care program (of 4-year Standard Warranty & Road-side Assistance), along with vehicle registration. Customers will further have an option to opt for a maintenance package in their leasing solution, based on their requirement.

Sharing his thoughts on the tie-up with Orix India, Mr Steffen Knapp (Director - VW Passenger Cars India) said, 'At Volkswagen, customers have been at the core of our business. With our partnership with ORIX, our customers will have the convenience and flexibility to drive premium mobility at a value for money proposition through a monthly rental. This will enhance financial independence for our customers with shorter periods of asset holding and no upfront capital requirement.'
