In a move to improve the driving experience, Audi has announced the integration of the world's largest video platform – YouTube – into its select models. Audi's YouTube integration into the infotainment system is facilitated through the introduction of a new app store, enabling Audi customers to access popular third-party applications via the Multimedia Interface. To use third-party apps, a data link is established through an embedded SIM card that is integrated permanently into the vehicle. In addition to YouTube, the app store will also allow customers to gain access to music, gaming, navigation, parking, weather, news, and so on. Audi's new app store is the result of the German manufacturer's association with Volkswagen's software company CARIAD and its partner HARMAN ignite.

This association enables customers to integrate the applications they use frequently into their vehicles, in accordance with their personal needs, according to Audi. Apps like music, video, gaming, navigation, YouTube, etc. can be directly installed by the user via the app store - without going through the hassle of connecting it with a smartphone.
