Hyundai India posted February 2024 numbers of 50,201 units, up 7 per cent year on year (YoY) but down 12 per cent month on month (MoM). Last year, during the same month, the manufacturer sold 47,001 units. This comes after the company achieved the best-ever domestic market monthly sales of 57,118 units in January this year. The recently revamped Creta and the Exter compact SUVs go on to drive demand for the company's entire passenger vehicle lineup. SUVs proved to be Hyundai's primary growth engine yet again, much like they are for the other manufacturers nowadays. The carmaker's SUV lineup comprises the Kona, the Ioniq 5, the Creta, the Venue, the Alcazar, the Tucson, and the Exter. Interestingly, in February 2024, 15,276 units, or 30 per cent of all Hyundai dispatches, were the new Creta.

What Hyundai Has to Say?

Commenting on the recent numbers, Tarun Garg, COO, of Hyundai India said, “Hyundai Motor recorded domestic sales of 50 201 units in February 2024, a 6.8 per cent growth over last year, thus continuing the strong momentum as we move forward in 2024. The newly launched Hyundai Creta leads the charge, by clocking a sale of 15 276 units in February which incidentally is the highest-ever monthly sales recorded by ‘Brand Creta’ since its inception in India more than 8 years back in 2015. February month also witnessed the Hyundai Creta surpass a historical milestone of 1 Million sales since its launch, thus cementing its position as the Undisputed, Ultimate, SUV. Also, heralding a new chapter in the N Line journey in India, we announced bookings open for the upcoming Hyundai Creta N Line. This model promises to induce advanced & dynamic driving experiences for our new-age customers wanting to break away from the monotony.”

Hyundai Creta N Line India Launch

In other news, the South Korean automaker is all geared up to roll out the performance-oriented Creta N Line in India on March 11. The bookings for the same have already begun for a token amount of Rs 25,000. This soon-to-be-launched SUV will be Hyundai's third N Line model, following the i20 N Line and the Venue N Line. Interested buyers may reserve the model at their nearest dealerships or via the company's official website.

Expect the Creta N Line to have a similar design theme to the current N Line models. With everything else remaining the same, the car's front end will get a slimmer grille, a modified bumper, and bigger air intakes. Along the sides, there will be larger 18-inch wheels (as opposed to the 16- and 17-inch wheels offered with the standard version), side skirts with N Line insignia, and red accents unique to the N Line. The sportier car will have a roof-mounted spoiler, dual-tip exhaust pipes, and a revamped bumper on the back as well. Blue and matte grey, the two new colour options, will probably be available for the N Line.

Along with N Line-specific elements like metal pads, leather upholstery, a three-spoke steering wheel, a gearshift lever, and subtle red accents on the dashboard, the SUV's interior will probably adorn an all-black theme. Regarding features, anticipate that the vehicle will have two 10.25-inch screens—a digital driver display and an infotainment screen with integrated navigation— just as the Creta facelift. Additional features include a Level 2 ADAS suite, dual-zone climate control, a 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats, and a panoramic sunroof.

The Hyundai Creta N Line will be propelled by the same turbo-petrol engine that drives the refreshed Creta. A new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol mill with 158bhp and 253Nm of peak torque will be installed in the N Line. Further, there will be a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT to take care of transmission chores.
