Formula E's thrilling action returns this weekend in Sao Paulo, Brazil, for only the second time, after an unexpected hiatus caused by the cancellation of the Hyderabad E-Prix. The all-electric racing series has been on a long break since the final race in Diriyah at the end of January, which could slow down Nick Cassidy's lead in the championship. Regardless of the break, Cassidy is prepared to carry on his remarkable run as he tackles the São Paulo Street Circuit in Brazil. He has maintained a podium finish in all three races this season. The race in São Paulo last year featured a peloton-style competition that was fiercely contested. The unpredictable qualifying session saw Stoffel Vandoorne take the pole position, with Antonio Felix da Costa proving to be the best Porsche driver, finishing thirteenth. During the race, Mitch Evans won, spearheading a dominating Jaguar powertrain trio that also included Nick Cassidy and Sam Bird. Due to problems with energy management, Vandoorne's challenge faded to sixth place, despite leading for a significant portion of the race. While defending champion Jake Dennis had his race cut short due to an early crash, Da Costa finished in fourth place. The event stood out due to the drivers' deliberate hesitation to take the lead, a strategy that was common in Formula E during the Gen3 era.

About Sao Paulo E-Prix

For the second year running, the fourth round of the Formula E season will be hosted in Sao Paulo. The forthcoming race will take place at the legendary Anhembi Sambadrome, famous for its lively funfair festivities, and this milestone season marks the tenth anniversary of Formula E. Featuring vibrant floats and lively samba dancers alongside the E-Prix action, last season's Formula E event embraced the festive atmosphere.

The 2.96 km course, famous for its three long straights and difficult series of eleven turns, will host the intense racing once again this year. It is worth mentioning that the first turn of the circuit has presented challenges to multiple drivers in past seasons, causing some to choose to go around it and rejoin the race at Turn 3. If drivers failed to make the first turn, they were required to come to a complete stop in the designated run-off zone. Once they had safely stopped, they could safely continue racing.
