The Ninja 500 takes design cues from more elder siblings like the ZX-6R and ZX-10R, yet it still manages to seem modern thanks to its muscular fascia and distinctive split headlamp arrangement.

Kawasaki India has launched the Ninja 500 for Rs 5.24 lakh (ex-showroom). Introduced to the world at EICMA 2023, the 2024 Kawasaki Ninja 500 takes styling influences from the bigger siblings. With one standard form available in India, the model is set to replace the Ninja 400, which has been in the Indian market for quite some time. In contrast, other markets have the option between two different variants. This Japanese middleweight motorcycle features a higher engine capacity, as seen in the 2024 Eliminator, and comes in a dazzling metallic spark black hue. Here is all the information that potential buyers of this sportbike from Kawasaki need to know.

Kawasaki Ninja 500: Design

When it comes to design, the Ninja 500 shows off an aggressive, futuristic design while staying true to the unique Ninja history. The split headlamp, emitting an intimidating presence, is integrated into an angular and layered fairing, coordinating with the sturdy fuel tank and a streamlined, upward-sweeping tail section. Kawasaki has decided to launch the Ninja 500 with black trim instead of the traditional green colour in India.

A sturdy steel trellis frame supports the Ninja 500's 17-inch alloy wheels, while telescopic forks up front and a preload-adjustable monoshock down back ensure a smooth ride. Both the front and rear disc brakes are very effective, with front disc diameters of 310 mm and rear disc diameters of 220 mm. The front disc brake on the bike is larger in diameter than the one on the Ninja 400.

Kawasaki Ninja 500: Features

When compared to other motorcycles in its class, the Ninja 500 has just a few features. The newly-introduced standard model in India comes with a negative LCD that can be connected to the rider's phone to provide mobile notifications. It also has dual-channel ABS for enhanced safety, and a slipper clutch to improve the riding experience and make it even more enjoyable.

Kawasaki Ninja 500: Engine

Kawasaki Ninja 500 Engine

The Ninja 500's power comes from a brand new 451cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine that produces 45bhp at 9000 rpm and 42.6Nm of torque at 6000 rpm. Not only do these specs beat those of the Ninja 400 before it, but they also beat those of rivals like the KTM RC 390 and Yamaha YZF-R3. Keep in mind that with its 46.9 horsepower and 43.5 Nm, the Aprilia RS457 is still the class leader.

The 2024 Kawasaki Z650RS, a retro-neo sport motorbike, and the Kawasaki Eliminator cruiser are some of the new products that Kawasaki has recently added to its India lineup. It has also been seen that the Kawasaki Versys X 300 is being tested in India, which suggests that the Japanese company may launch it soon.
