2023 Kia Seltos X Line Facelift Spotted Testing Ahead of India Launch

The 2023 Kia Seltos has recently been seen testing in its highest-spec X-Line configuration in the country. It is gearing up for its first mid-lifecycle facelift in India this year. The updated Seltos SUV, which arrived around a year back in global markets, will have redesigned front and rear styling, a newly modified dashboard, and a slew of additional amenities. Further, the 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines will remain the same. However, with the new 1.6-litre engine from the Verna entering the model range, a turbo-petrol engine is scheduled to make a reappearance in the Korean automaker's best-selling SUV. The Seltos X-Line is currently only offered in the Matte Graphite shade. The recently spotted test mule also shows the exact same colour. Meanwhile, it seems we'll have to wait and see if the facelift version of the Seltos X-Line has any new colour schemes to offer. 2023 Kia Seltos X Line Facelift: What's New?

Since the Seltos is already well-known for its sporty styling, Kia would not want to take any chances with the facelifted model. It's anticipated that the grille, bumper, and new LED DRLs on the front fascia would all undergo changes. 'Ice cube' LED fog lights and Crown Jewel LED headlamps seem to be the same as before. The Seltos facelift's new tail lights are probably going to include a connected LED strip at the back. The front may also receive a comparable makeover. Contrary to the existing model, the Seltos facelift's rear bumper has what seems like a muscular design.

The 18-inch machined alloy wheels are shown in the spy photos to have an identical 5-spoke design around the sides. As a result, the Seltos X Line facelift's side profile is likely to stay the same.

2023 Kia Seltos X Line Facelift: Interior Details

The Seltos facelift's new dual, connected screen setup will be the interior's major improvement. The Seltos' infotainment screen and instrument cluster are now placed in the same binnacle, however, they are separated by the instrument cluster's much deeper set. The Mahindra XUV700's effectively connected screen will be added to the Seltos with the modification. The dashboard will also get a small revamp as a result of this. 

The 2023 Seltos X-line will also have revised centre consoles with rotary drive selectors for automatic versions, slimmer central AC vents, and repositioned switchgear for the HVAC controls. The Seltos' feature set is anticipated to receive several much-needed updates as well. A panoramic sunroof is one of the upgrades that could have a significant impact on buyers' preferences when choosing a car, especially in this segment. The only sunroof option for the current model is a single pane. Additionally, new ADAS technologies and better infotainment software may be available.

2023 Kia Seltos X Line Facelift: Engine and Gearbox

The same 115bhp, 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines with their corresponding manual and automatic transmissions will continue to power the Seltos facelift mechanically. A new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine will replace the Seltos' 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine, which has been phased out of production. The new Hyundai Verna introduced this engine, which generates a maximum torque of 253Nm and 160bhp. And although the Verna is available with both a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT transmission, it is still uncertain as to what transmission options Kia will provide with the Seltos.

2023 Kia Seltos X Line Facelift: India Launch Soon?

The facelifted Seltos from Kia is anticipated to go on sale in July 2023. The Seltos X Line's release date and whether it would coincide with the Seltos facelift are both up in the air, though. Unofficial reservations for the forthcoming SUV are anticipated to commence at Kia showrooms next month. The Hyundai Creta, the MG Astor, the Skoda Kushaq, the Volkswagen Taigun, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder are just a few of the competitors the Seltos facelift is going to face in the Indian market.
