Mercedes-Benz's GLC, the model that sells the most units worldwide, is presently offered with an updated look. The GLC is not, however, for sale in India as of now. In a recent development, the next-generation GLC SUV has been formally teased by Mercedes-Benz India in a series of images that show the car being driven in camouflage on Indian roads. For those unaware, the Mercedes GLC is an SUV developed on the C-Class that sits below the GLE in Mercedes-Benz's India portfolio. Although there may be variations to the equipment list and powertrain options, the India-spec vehicle resembles the one that is sold worldwide. The German luxury carmaker is anticipated to start taking reservations for the second-generation GLC SUV and announce its pricing details in the upcoming months. Till then, let's delve into the further details of the new GLC SUV.

2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC: Design and Dimensions

2023 Mercedes GLC 1

The second-generation Mercedes-Benz GLC, which made its global debut last year, is bigger than the model it succeeds. The dimensions of the 2023 GLC are 4,716mm in length, 2,075mm in width, and 1,650mm in height. It is 60mm longer, but somewhat lower and slimmer. The wheelbase is now 2,888mm long after stretching by 15mm. With a smoother appearance, the design represents an improvement over the previous-gen model. The headlights have been reprofiled, while the grille and Mercedes logo have both grown in size. Further, the new SUV will ride on a new set of alloy wheels. The LED taillamps also have a sleeker appearance and updated details. Naturally, the company will sell the SUV with the more aggressive AMG-line visual customisation.

2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC: Powertrain Details

The GLC is available with plug-in hybrid and mild-hybrid powertrains globally, but the India-spec model is only anticipated to provide the mild-hybrid unit. There will be two models: the GLC200, powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that churns out 204bhp of maximum power and 320Nm of peak torque, and the GLC220d, powered by a diesel engine.
