Becuase 840bhp is not enough, you see . . .

Last year, Dodge made headlines with its Challenger SRT Demon because the car boasted some bonkers numbers. However, it seems that the stock car’s 840bhp was too mainstream for Hennessey Performance, so they amped it up to 1,000bhp!

Available as the HPE1000 package for Demion, it will include an updated version of the car’s 6.2-litre supercharged V8 with long-tube headers, new pulleys and a revised engine-management system. The car will also sport Hennessey badges and serial numbers.

Hennessey has also released a video of its Demon HPE1000’s dyno run that shows the car pumping 880 horsepower, which equates to about 1,035bhp at the crank. Obviously, such force is enough for the Demon to clock a time of 9.38 seconds in the quarter mile while hitting an impressive 146.7mph (~236km/h) during the run, which beats Dodge’s own best of 9.65 seconds.

Hennessey has not yet officially revealed how much the HPE1000 package for the Demon will cost over the stock Demon’s $86,340 (~57.30 lakh). The package is only available for the Challenger Demon, which already has a production cap of 3,300 units. Therefore, Hennessey’s sinister Demon will remain even more exclusive than the stock model.

Since its a North America exclusive model, it can be pretty hard to witness the Demon HPE1000’s might in person. Therefore, Hennessey has released an official video to give us a taste of it. You can watch it below.
