Maruti Suzuki has revised the prices of its entire product portfolio effective from January 1, 2024, including the Fronx SUV. Citing rising input costs and commodity costs, combined with high inflationary pressures, the brand has increased the price of its Nexa model by Rs 5,000. As a result, the prices of the Fronx Sigma, Delta, and Delta+, all with a 1.2-litre Dual-Jet Dual-VVT petrol unit mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, now face a uniform price hike of Rs 5,000.

Nevertheless, the Fronx Zeta and Alpha, both with a 1.0-litre Turbo Boosterjet petrol engine with a 6-speed automatic transmission, have become cheaper by an identical Rs 10,000. Meanwhile, the CNG versions of the Sigma and Delta are dearer by Rs 5,000 each. At the moment, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx starts at Rs. 7.51 lakh and goes up to Rs 13.13 lakh (ex-showroom).

Maruti Suzuki Fronx: Powertrain Options

Under the hood, the sub-4 metre SUV gets two petrol engine options. The Maruti Suzuki's all-new 1.0-litre Turbo Boosterjet petrol engine (99bhp/148Nm) is paired with an option of a 5-speed manual transmission as well as a 6-speed automatic, while the Fronx's second engine option is a 1.2-litre Dual-Jet Dual-VVT petrol unit (89bhp/113Nm) that comes mated to two transmission options: a 5-speed MT and a 5-speed AMT. When running on CNG, the 1.2-litre petrol-powered version with a manual transmission makes 77bhp and 98.5Nm.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx: Design

Maruti Suzuki has given its Fronx a modern and sporty design language, intending to target the youth. The exterior design elements are in line with those of the Grand Vitara and the Baleno. The front section of the Fronx is dominated by a big hexagonal grille divided by a chrome bar, sleeker-looking LED headlights, and DRLs. Its front bumper sports faux skid plates in a grey shade. With a coupe-like roofline, 16-inch precision-cut dual-tone alloy wheels, chiselled wheel arches, muscular fenders, and side body cladding, the new Fronx looks sporty and youthful. At the rear, the car comes with LED block taillights, an LED strip running across the width, and a roof spoiler.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx: Features

Features-wise, there is a dual-tone Bordeaux and Black Nappa leather upholstery, a 9.0-inch HD Smart Play Pro+ infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay/ Android Auto, a flat-bottom steering wheel, an ARKAMYS sound system, a head-up display, Suzuki Connect with 40+ connected car features, cruise control, and more. For safety, you get ABS with EBD, ESP with hill-hold assist and rollover mitigation, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, 6 airbags, and 3-point ELR seatbelts.

The new SUV from the house of Maruti Suzuki is fresh, sporty, and packed with modern technology. The Fronx's competitive pricing, appealing design, and a host of new features bring it on a level playing field with its rivals such as the Renault Kiger, the Nissan Magnite, the Tata Punch, the Kia Sonet, and the Hyundai Venue.
