Nissan India today announced the launch of the new entry variant of the diesel-powered Micra XE. Sales of this Micra entry level variant will commence from September 4, 2013 and the car is priced at Rs. 5.57 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi)

Available in six colours, the entry level Micra XE gets the same redesigned exteriors and premium interiors as the other variants. Features like immobilizer, driver seat belt warning indicator, door ajar warning indicator, low fuel level warning indicator and others make their way into the car. The base version also gets a manual A/C unlike the Climate control offered on the top-end variants.

Mr. Kenichiro Yomura, President of Nissan India Operations & MD & CEO, Nissan Motor India said, “The launch of new Micra range in July received an overwhelming response from our customers. I am confident that the New Micra diesel variant is a good value proposition and a desirable option for the Indian customers.”

Nitish Tipnis, Director – Sales & Marketing, Hover Automotive India too was confident about the new Micra XE and said, “The launch of the new variant in the Micra family further signifies Nissan’s commitment towards the Indian market. The diesel powered Micra with its best in class fuel efficiency and unique features has the potential to carve a niche for itself in the crowded and competitive compact hatchback segment in India.”
