Skoda recalls 539 units of the Octavia for potentially faulty child locks on rear doors.

In times when automotive recalls are coming into effect due to grave issues like emissions scandals, defective life threatening airbags, etc, here is one on a lighter note, Skoda in India has recalled 539 units of the Octavia D-segment saloon to inspect and fix possibly faulty child locks on the rear doors.

"The campaign is related to 539 Octavia units produced between November 2015 and April 2016. In case the locks need to be replaced under the service campaign, the process will conclude in 45 minutes and will be done at no cost to the customer.” said the company in an official statement.

Skoda India has advised dealers to contact owners of the Octavia manufactured in the above mentioned time frame and set up a service appointment to look into the issue. Assessment of the lock set will be done in a matter of twelve minutes said the company.
