The German car manufacturer is on the verge of showcasing the future of the SUV. The new T-Cross will be the most compact SUV in their line-up and is a result of years of surveys on the modern global SUV.

The concept has a catchy and masculine design. The front end features a large bonnet and headlights integrated outside the wide radiator grille, and is probably the most dominant design feature. It also gets sharply cut character lines that divide the areas, making it stand out from all angles. It forms a powerful shoulder section and merges into a new design element specifically designed to focus on the future of urban SUVs. The rear gets a horizontal reflector strip surrounded by a black trim. The car will have a variety of colour options and two-tone examples. The interiors will also be sporty and with multiple colour options available, including bi-colour paintwork versions as an option when it is launched next year.

According to VW, at an early stage of development of the T-Cross, the designers designed the spacious interior virtually by using augmented reality. They tested a variety of parametres, such as the ergonomics as well as the ambience and experienced the T-Cross of tomorrow live in order to perfect it further. With the help of the virtua reality design implementations they were able to get a feeling for what it would be like for the first customers to sit in the vehicle, for example, when the songs from their smartphone media library or streaming services resound through the interior of the new SUV via the "beats" sound system.

The new T-Cross will be revealed in the coming months, and will go on sale next year. VW is surely focusing on the T-Cross as a global product especially for urban areas and developoing markets, where compact SUVs seem to be the current trend.
