Xiaomi globally unveiled the SUV in December 2023, and three months later, Xiaomi has finally revealed the prices of its first-ever all-electric sedan. Launched in the Chinese market, the Xiaomi SU7 is available in a total of three variants – SU7, SU7 Pro, and SU7 Max, with prices starting at RMB 2,15,900 (Rs 24.90 lakh) for the standard variant. At the top of the heap sits the SU7 Max, priced at RMB 2,99,900 (Rs 34.61 lakh). Between these two variants slots the mid-spec Pro, setting you back by RMB 2,45,900 (Rs 28.37 lakh) – the same as the entry-level Tesla Model 3 in China.

Xiaomi says the deliveries of the standard and Max variants will commence at the end of April, whereas the Pro variant will start reaching customers later in May. Besides, the Founders Edition of the SU7, which is limited to 5,000 samples, is also on offer. The deliveries of this model will begin on April 3.

Xiaomi SU7: Dimensions, Design

Xiaomi SU7

Previously codenamed MS11, the Xiaomi SU7 is 4,997mm long, 1,963mm wide, and 1,455mm tall and features a wheelbase of 3,000mm. The electric sedan's kerb weight sits between 1,980-2,205kg, depending on which variant you go for. As for luggage, you get a 105-litre frunk and a 517-litre boot.

The SU7's design is similar to that of the Tesla Model 3, Xiaomi's market rival. The smartphone maker's sedan gets teardrop-shaped LED headlamps, an air dam on the front bumper, and a tapering bonnet. Other visual elements include a sloping roofline, connected LED taillights, a camera on the B pillar, as well as a choice of 19- and 20-inch wheels. If you choose higher-spec variants, you will get an active rear wing and Lidar technology installed behind the front windshield.

Xiaomi SU7: Powertrain

Xiaomi’s Modena platform is the basis for the SU7. It is compatible with both 400V and 800V electric architectures, as well as a rear-wheel-drive and an all-wheel-drive system. There are three battery packs on offer: a 73.6kWh BYD’s LFP Blade battery on base variants, a 94.3kWh CATL Shenxing on mid-spec variants, and a 101kWh CATL Qilin on performance-oriented variants.

The standard XU7 gets a 73.6kWh BYD's LFP Blade battery coupled to a 295bhp electric motor. It has a CLTC range of 700km and a top speed of 210 km/h. Meanwhile, the Pro and the Max use a 94.3kWh CATL Shenxing battery with an 830km CLTC range and a 101kWh CATL Qilin battery with an 800km CLTC range, respectively. The performance version of the SU7, which comes with a dual motor all-wheel-drive setup, is capable of reaching a top speed of 265km/h. 0-100km/h can come up in a claimed time of 2.78 seconds.

Xiaomi SU7: Interior

The images that surfaced online in February give us a close look into the Xiaomi SU7's interior, which includes a sizeable multimedia panel for music, navigation, and car-related information. There is also a panoramic sunroof, a wireless charging spot, a start-stop button, and physical buttons for the air conditioning. Other bits include a 4.7-litre fridge and plenty of compartments for phones and laptops

For safety, the car offers two advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) options – Pilot Pro and Pilot Max. The former is based on pure vision, like Tesla, whereas the latter additionally gets Lidar.
