Goodyear is collaborating with Plan India NGO, a child centred community development organisation, to improves lives of children in Delhi and Mumbai.

Under this collaboration, hundreds of children will receive immunisation and have their health monitored regularly. Further, they will be provided with regular meals each day to ensure appropriate nutrition levels.

“With growth of infrastructure and development activities in urban areas, there are large numbers of labourers moving to our major cities,” said Mr. Rajeev Anand, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Goodyear India. “In many cases, they come with their families and children from rural areas and reside in temporary housing near the construction sites where it can sometimes be difficult to access services in healthcare and education,” he added.

Each child development centre of Plan India provides a safe environment for children of construction labourers, apart from assisting their admission in government schools. Further, their parents are counselled on natal/post-natal care such as child feeding practices, hygienic living and immunisation.
