Hero MotoCorp Clocks 27% Year-over-Year Sales Growth in October, Sells 5.74 Lakh Unit

While the festive season boosted sales, Hero MotoCorp's premium product introductions are expected to boost sales in the coming months. Hero MotoCorp finished October 2023 with 5.74 lakh scooter and motorbike sales, a 26% YoY increase.

Hero MotoCorp, the largest manufacturer of two-wheelers, announced a remarkable 26.5% surge in total sales for October 2023, reaching 574,930 units. When compared to last year's same-month sales of 454,582 units, this is significant growth. Sales of motorcycles alone hit 529,341 units in the most recent month, up 26.2% from October 2022's total of 419,568. In addition, sales of scooters hit 45,589 units for the month under review, up 30.2% from sales of 35,014 scooters in the same month in 2022.

More importantly, Hero MotoCorp had a 29% increase in two-wheeler exports last month, with 15,164 units delivered as opposed to 11,757 in the same month last year. During the Navratri festival, the firm celebrated the start of delivery for the Harley-Davidson X440, the first luxury motorcycle it had co-developed. A massive delivery effort saw one thousand units sent out to one hundred different stores all over India.

Hero MotoCorp underlined its confidence in continued robust demand, attributing it to recent product introductions in the luxury market and the ongoing festive season.

Hero MotoCorp has reached a major milestone with the opening of its first premium dealership, Hero Premia, in Kerala. This showroom in Calicut (Kozhikode) will feature the full line of premium two-wheelers from Hero, from the Xpulse 200 4V to the Karizma XMR 210 and the Harley-Davidson X440. 

In response to the rising need for environmentally friendly means of transportation, the Vida V1 electric scooter will also be on hand. The original plan to open this one-of-a-kind showroom was revealed in July 2023, alongside the debut of the Harley-Davidson X440, Details were later provided alongside the introduction of the Karizma XMR. The fundamental goal of this program is to give customers a unique and satisfying brand experience that spans all aspects of their lives with the product.

The 3,000-square-foot 'Hero Premia' may be found in the heart of Calicut's Auto Hub. The dark exterior of this recently unveiled showroom and the addition of modern furnishings and appealing colour palettes inside set it apart from standard Hero dealerships. There will be designated areas at the dealership for showcasing various product lines. Zones dedicated to urban and street riding will include electric two-wheelers and performance motorcycles, while those dedicated to lifestyle and exploration will feature roadsters and adventure motorcycles.

Hero claims that its high-end showroom is equipped with cutting-edge cloud and augmented reality technology to facilitate a wide variety of sales, maintenance, and replacement parts procedures. Hero has big ambitions to expand by opening more of these showrooms all around the country, so this is just the beginning. The Hero X440, which will be sold through the existing Premia dealer network, is scheduled for release in the first half of 2024. The new Hero 440 from India will be a scrambler version of the Harley-Davidson X440.
