Mahindra will launch an all new premium pick-up truck range in January, christened as the ‘Imperio’.

Designed in-house at Mahindra’s R&D facility in Chennai, the production process will be carried out at company’s factory in Chakan, Pune.

With the Imperio, Mahindra aims to provide a high-end product experience in the small commercial vehicles segment. It will cater to the needs of small and medium businesses.

Speaking about the launch, Pravin Shah, President & Chief Executive (Automotive), M&M Ltd. said “Being a customer centric and listening organization, we identify the need gaps among consumers which has gone into the designing of the Imperio which will meet the evolving needs of customer.

“Since we are the market leader in small commercial vehicle segment, I am sure that with the addition of the Imperio, we will consolidate our leadership in the commercial vehicle space even more,’’ he added.

Mahindra has set its sights on consolidating its dominance in the small CV space. It currents holds 53% market share in the LCV segment (less than 3.5 ton load).
