Ducati Streetfighter V2 launched in India, priced at Rs 17.25 lakh

The baby Streetfighter V2 might be smaller motorcycle in Ducati’s naked motorcycles lineup, but it packs enough punch to make sure that the average rider never really misses the Streetfighter V4. It has now been launched in India.

Italian bikemaker Ducati had an action-packed schedule for the Indian market in 2022, and one of the most sought-after motorcycles has been the Streetfighter V2. A mini rendition of Ducati’s fearsome Streetfighter V4, the Streetfighter V2 has been launched in India at a price of Rs 17.25 lakh (Ex-showroom).

At the heart of it, the Ducati Streetfighter V2 uses a 955cc, liquid-cooled, 90-degree V2 engine which delivers 151bhp and 101Nm. The transmission is a six-speed unit with a bi-directional Quickshifter in place. The clutch has a slip and assist function to it as well.

Ducati uses a monocoque aluminium frame for the chassis. At the front, the suspension comprises fully-adjustable 43mm Showa BPF forks, the tyre is a Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV with 120/70 section sitting on a 17-inch rim, and the braking duties are taken care of by two 320mm semi-floating discs and radially mounted Brembo Monobloc M4.32 4-piston callipers.

At the rear, there is a fully adjustable Sachs suspension unit with a single-sided aluminium swingarm, the tyre is a Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV with 180/60 section sitting on a 17-inch rim and the braking duties are taken care of by a 245mm disc with a 2-piston calliper. The dry weight of the motorcycle sits at 178kg, whereas the kerb weight goes up to 200kgs.

As far as safety kit goes, Ducati is offering Riding modes, Power modes, Bosch Cornering ABS EVO, Ducati Traction Control EVO 2, Ducati Wheelie Control EVO, Engine Brake Control, and Auto tyre calibration on the Streetfighter V2. Other standard equipment includes full LED lighting, a Sachs steering damper and auto-off indicators. The warranty is pegged at 24 months for an unlimited number of kilometres.

On the rival’s front, the Ducati Streetfighter V2 will lock horns with the Kawasaki Z900, BMW F 900 R and the Triumph Street Triple to an extent.
