New Ola S1 Electric Scooter Range Crosses 75,000 Bookings in Two Weeks Since Launch

The price of the Ola S1 X starts at Rs 89,999 and goes up to Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom). The deliveries for the Ola S1 X 2kWh and the S1 X 3kWh will begin in December, while those for the S1 X + will commence by the end of next month.

With the launch of the new S1 X alongside the updated S1 Pro and the S1 Air, Ola Electric has revamped the line-up of S1 electric scooters in India. Rolled out on August 15 this year, the revamped S1 range is now available at a starting price of Rs 89,999 and goes up to Rs 1.47 lakh. Prices are ex-showroom. Bengaluru-based EV manufacturer opened bookings for all three models on the said date, and ever since then, the refreshed S1 range of electric two-wheelers has received an overwhelming response and garnered more than 75,000 bookings. The deliveries for the S1 X 2kWh and the S1 X 3kWh will begin in December, while those for the S1 X + will commence by the end of next month. For those planning to buy the refreshed versions of the Pro and the Air, the deliveries will start by mid-September. With these 3 new releases, Ola aims to boost EV sales and offer a wide range of models to buyers with diverse needs.

Ola S1 X: Price, Variants, Specs, and More 

The entry-level model – the Ola S1 X – comes in three different configurations: the S1 X with a 2kWh battery pack, the S1 X with a 3kWh battery pack, and the S1 X+. Pricing of the S1 X 2kWh and the S1 X 3kWh stands at Rs 89,999 and Rs 99,999, respectively, whereas the S1 X+ asks for Rs 1.10 lakh, thereby resulting in greater savings in comparison to ICE-powered models. All prices are ex-showroom.

The Ola S1 X electric scooter sits on the brand’s cutting-edge Gen 2 EV platform. The S1 X line-up gets the same hardware as the S1 Air. It comes with drum brakes at both ends, telescopic front forks, dual rear shocks, Eco, Normal, & Sport modes, reverse mode, 34-litre trunks, saddle heights of 805mm, combi brake systems, LED headlights, and 12-inch wheels.

The Ola S1 X has a top speed of 90km/h and a maximum range of 151-kilometre on a single charge. The Ola S1 X sits below the other scooters in the EV maker's current model line-up in terms of pricing.

Ola S1 Air, Pro: Price, Specs, and More 

On the same day, the EV maker also introduced the reworked version of the S1 Pro, based on the new Gen 2 platform. Offered with a price tag of Rs 1.47 lakh, the S1 Pro now comes with a flat floorboard and features a twin-fork telescopic front suspension. It boasts a top speed of 120km/h and has a certified range of 195-kilometre on a single charge. The power output for the bike is 15bhp. 

Ola S1 Air

On the other hand, the Ola S1 Air electric scooter currently retails at Rs 1.20 lakh (ex-showroom). The second-generation S1 Air can do 0-40km/h in 3.3 seconds, with a claimed range of 151km and a top speed of 90km/h. The power output for the bike is 8bhp.

In addition, the manufacturer has also rolled out a new software update for Ola Electric's S1 range of electric scooters. In its fourth edition, the MoveOS 4 will be offered with a host of new features. One such feature, called Concert mode, is an extension of MoveOS 3's Party mode. Other features will include custom motor sound, geo and time fencing, location push, megaphone, find my scooter, Ola Maps, hill descent, auto turn-off indicators, Dark Mode, and so on.
