Ola Electric has started accepting bookings for its upcoming scooter at a minimum amount of Rs 499. The new scooter will be developed at Ola’s Futurefactory in Tamil Nadu, which will have a impressive produciton capacity right from the beginning.

Bookings for the upcoming Ola Electric scooter have officially commenced. Customers can register their interest and book the new electric two-wheeler at a minimum booking amount of just Rs 499. While a launch date hasn’t been announced as yet, Ola assures that pre-orders will be delivered on priority. This announcement comes just a few weeks after Bhavish Aggarwal, Group CEO, took the wraps of the electric scooter in a short video, which also showed him riding it around in the city.

The video also revealed that the scooter will have a large under seat storage area good enough to accommodate two half face helmets. The details of the electric scooter are still few and far; however, the CEO also recently shared a tweet claiming a quick 0 – 60km/h speed. And if the claim is anything to go by, expect decent battery capacity and a powerful motor.

2021 Ola Electric Scooter Trademark Series S S1 S1pro M

As far as design goes, the scooter looks clean and has a sweet blend of retro cues and futuristic appeal. Expect a long list of features including LED headlights, a front disc brake, and app-based keyless access. Ola also claims that the scooter will have class-leading riding range.

While we wait for the Ola electric scooter to hit the market, a trademark document reveals that it's likely to be called the Series S. In fact, the Tamil Nadu based EV brand seems to have trademarked two other names – S1 and S1 Pro. Has Ola already started the development of other new products, or are these just variants of the same scooter? Only time will tell.
