It seems like offering matte colour options has become a trend in the two-wheeler market. Just a few months back, Suzuki and Bajaj brought in matte colour options for the Access 125 and the Dominar respectively. Now, TVS has introduced a matte red option for the popular Apache RTR 160 as well as the RTR 180. The Hosur-based company has priced them at Rs 77,865 and Rs 81,833 respectively. This essentially means that the matte red option of both these motorcycles is Rs 1000 more than the standard colour trims. With the addition of this new colour, the RTR 160 is now available in seven colour options while the RTR 180 comes with six options.

Like all new colour launches, mechanically nothing has changed on both these motorcycles. The Apache RTR 160 continues to make 15bhp and 13Nm from a 160cc single cylinder engine. The RTR 180 on the has been fitted with a 177cc engine that churns out 17.3bhp and 15.50Nm. Both bikes come mated to a 5-speed transmission. The RTR 180 is also available with the option of ABS.

This is not the first time TVS has introduced matte colour options for one of their products. Earlier this year in May, the company launched the TVS Scooty Zest 110 with a range of matte colour options. In fact, their best-selling scooter, the TVS Jupiter is also offered with a few matte colour options.
