McLaren has revealed their newest Grand Tourer, which is named GTS. This new supercar, set to replace the existing GT, not only reduces its weight but also features a more potent V8 engine. One of the most notable improvements is the development of the nose lift system that is available as an option. This lift system increases the height of the front end of the car by 20mm, resulting in a ground clearance of 130mm. Impressively, the GTS is able to fully raise or lower the nose in just 4.0 seconds, which is a significant improvement over the GT.

2024 McLaren GTS: Design

The new GTS body-work stands out from its predecessor, the GT, due to its emphasis on aerodynamic improvements. One noticeable change is the reworked front valance that sits under the headlights. It now has sculpted air vents that allow for better airflow and cooling. Also helping with the car's aerodynamics are the taller air scoops that sit above the back wheel arches. The GTS's newly integrated rear diffuser complements these changes.

Adaptive suspension and ceramic brakes are standard on the GTS, which enhances the car's performance potential. As an innovative addition to the GTS's exterior, McLaren introduced new wheel designs. Buyers can choose to upgrade to carbon-fibre exterior trim.

New exterior colour options, such as dazzling Lava Grey, lively Mantis Green, mesmerising Tanzanite Blue, and flawless Ice White, are sure to make heads turn. New alloy wheels—20 inches up front and 21 inches in the back—and lighter titanium locking wheel bolts take the design to the next level.

2024 McLaren GTS: Interior

Softgrain aniline leather seats with contrast stitching emphasise the updated cabin of the McLaren GTS. By including a glass tailboard, glazed C-pillars and rear quarter windows, the original GT's exceptional visibility is maintained.

A 10.25-inch instrument display gives the driver all the information they need about the vehicle, while a 7-inch infotainment display in the middle of the dashboard makes the whole thing look more futuristic. Along with a high-quality 12-speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio system, you get to choose from six different ambient lighting colours to enhance your driving experience.

An optional sports exhaust system is offered for individuals who like the sound of that powerful V8 engine. A whopping 420 litres of cargo capacity is available behind the glass tailboard of the McLaren, with a further 150 litres available upfront.

2024 McLaren GTS: Engine and Performance

With an impressive 626bhp, up 14bhp from the GT, it is powered by McLaren's M840TE 4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, housed in its carbon-fiber tub. This engine makes use of improved combustion phasing and ignition timing. The GTS manages to trim 10kgs off its curb weight, taking it down to 1520kg, while keeping its torque at 630Nm. This improves the power-to-weight ratio.

The GTS is an upgrade over its predecessor, boasting an acceleration of 8.9 seconds from 0 to 200km/hr. In the meantime, the 0-100km/h time stays a strong 3.2 seconds, and the top speed hits a thrilling 326km/h.
