BMW X4 M40i SUV India Launch Tomorrow; Here's What We Know So Far

BMW will launch the brand-new X4 M40i SUV in India tomorrow. The automaker debuted the facelifted X4 in our country in March 2022. However, it was then delisted from the firm's official website earlier this year. The SUV will be powered by an inline 6-cylinder, 3.0-litre, M TwinPower Turbo unit.

Ahead of its official launch in India, the German luxury carmaker, BMW recently teased the X4 SUV's M Sport variant. Following this, the brand has now announced that the new X4 M40i SUV will go on sale in the Indian market tomorrow i.e. October 26. For the uninitiated, the most recent iteration of the X4 M performance variant has already been unveiled internationally. BMW released the facelifted X4 SUV in our country in March last year. However, the auto major delisted the model from its official website earlier this year. It is anticipated that the all-new offering from BMW will arrive on Indian shores via the CBU (completely built unit) route. Besides this, the India-spec version of the model is likely to come equipped with the same engine as the one found on the global-spec models. The blacked-out kidney grille of the BMW X4 M40i is distinctive from those of other models when it comes to appearance. As opposed to the typical twin grille configuration with a black bar, it sports a larger single-piece frame. The full LED technology is a standard component of the headlights. These headlights come with twin L-shaped LED DRLs. The SUV rolls on 20-inch M light alloy wheels. In order to distinguish the model from the standard X4 version, M Sport badging can be seen all over. Other styling highlights include LED taillights as well as skid plates and ORVMs finished in gloss black paint.

The brand-new SUV is expected to be powered by the same inline 6-cylinder, 3.0-litre, M TwinPower Turbo engine. As mentioned above, this unit is present in international models as well. Additionally, a 48V mild hybrid technology is coupled to the engine. The transmission is handled by an 8-speed Sport Automatic transmission with Sport and Manual shift modes, paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel, and Launch Control. The maximum power and torque outputs of the engine stand at 382bhp and 502Nm, respectively. The model's mild-hybrid powertrain allows it to increase its output by about 11bhp. It further enables the X4 M40i to travel up to 50-kilometre entirely on electricity. With a top speed of 210km/h, the car boasts a 0-100km/h sprint time of less than five seconds.

The X4 M40i's interior has a sporty feel as well. A central, free-standing digital display that takes up most of the dashboard is home to the 10.25-inch touch-screen infotainment system as standard. The touchscreen panel also comes in a 12.3-inch size, which is probably going to be a choice. New sports seats have been added to the upholstery. A three-zone automatic climate control is also included.

BMW X4 M40i SUV: Expected Price 

Before being taken off the market in India, the BMW X4 carried a starting price of Rs 71.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Considering that the upcoming model is an M Sport variant, you can expect the BMW X4 M40i SUV to have an ex-showroom price tag close to Rs 90 lakh, upon launch.
