Special Platinum Edition variants of the Cayenne will be offered for a limited period of time in both petrol and diesel versions.

Porsche in India has introduced a special edition version of the Cayenne. Billed as the Platinum Edition, it will be offered with the entry-level Cayenne (petrol) and Cayenne Diesel models. Porsche has priced the Cayenne Platinum Edition (petrol) at Rs 1.07 crore, while the special edition diesel version will set you back by Rs 1.09 crore (both ex-showroom, Maharashtra). Interested people can book the vehicle right now at any Porsche dealership across India, deliveries will commence August 2016 onwards.

Before putting down the booking amount though, here’s a list of features/updates that you’d getting over the regular model – 20-inch RS Spyder wheels, wider wheel arches, exclusive interior detailing along with leather sport seats, Alcantara centre panels and stainless steel door sills with “Platinum Edition” lettering. A special exterior shade - Purpurite Metallic - is also available as an option on the new models. Additionally, you also get a black high-gloss exterior package for the car.

Among other highlights, the Platinum Edition variants get the company’s latest infotainment system (PCM or Porsche Communication Management) featuring a seven-inch touchscreen and Bose surround sound system. Some of the additional features include adaptive air suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), panoramic sunroof, Bluetooth/mobile phone preparation, 4-zone climate control, etc.

Powertrain remains unchanged in the new models. This means the petrol version of the Platinum Edition features a 3.6-litre, V6 developing 295bhp and 400Nm, whereas the diesel comes fitted with a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 that is rated at 241bhp and 550Nm. Both come paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission, channeling drive to all four wheels.

Commenting on the introduction of the latest Cayenne model variant, Pavan Shetty, Director of Porsche India, said: “The Cayenne Platinum Edition is a thrilling four-door sports car with purposefully selected materials for an even greater sense of style. The comprehensive range of standard equipment and eye-catching details makes this premium model a truly attractive offering for our enthusiasts.”

Porsche will be selling the Cayenne Platinum Edition models for limited period of time, although it hasn’t revealed the exact number of units allotted for our market.
