More than 25 years after its first appearance, the Audi TT is retiring with the TTS Coupe that comes with a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine and all-wheel-drive technology. Ever since its launch in early 1998, over 6.62 lakh units have been manufactured so far, the last example of which was rolled out of the company's Gyor facility in Hungary. The decision to end the 25-year production of the TT sports car was made public early this year; although it remains unclear whether this legendary nameplate will make a comeback or not. If the brand plans on doing so, there are chances that the Audi TT could return as an electric car.

The brand of four rings broke this news via a social media post. To mark this occasion, the bedecked third-generation Audi TTS coupe was accompanied by the original first-generation model previewed in 1995, TT Roadster concepts, and two second-generation models.

Audi TTS Coupe: Engine

The final Audi TTS sports a Chronos Gray Metallic colour, complemented by Dark Chrome matt accents. Under the hood, the third-generation Audi TTS gets a 2.0-litre, TFSI, 4-cylinder engine that cranks out 306bhp, enabling it to go from 0 to 100km/h in 4.5 seconds. Based on the MQB platform, this is the second most powerful model after the performance-focused RS that uses a 2.5-litre, 5-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine.

In over 25 years, the German brand has released three generations of the TT, along with facelifted versions, special & final editions, and two body styles – coupe and convertible.
