Upcoming Cars During Festive Season in India: Honda Elevate, New Kia Seltos and More

Nearly all of our country's manufacturers anticipate astronomical sales this season, particularly in the car industry. People will likely have a variety of options to choose from this year when buying a four-wheeler because numerous models are scheduled to be released. Industry reports state that the 2023 Kia Seltos, the next-gen Tata Nexon, and other highly anticipated vehicles would all go on sale around festival time. Honda just unveiled the eagerly anticipated Elevate in our market. The automaker confirmed that the new mid-size SUV will launch in India during the festival season. Honda Elevate

Honda has revealed the long-awaited Elevate in India. The car made its global debut in our market featuring a range of features, including Honda's Connect Connected Car Technology and Sensing level-2 ADAS technology, etc. It has been confirmed by Honda that the new compact SUV will launch in the country during the festive period. In terms of price, it is expected to cost between Rs 11 lakh and Rs 20 Lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom.

According to the firm, the new model will initially be a petrol-only SUV. It will be built on the same platform as the fifth-generation Honda City and driven by the same 1.5-litre iVTEC petrol engine used in the sedan, which has a maximum output of 120bhp and 145Nm. For transmission, the engine uses either a 6-speed manual or a CVT gearbox. 

New Kia Seltos

The new Seltos with a generational change is all set to mark its entry into our nation shortly. On the appearance front, the 2023 model will include a new grille, headlights with LED DRLs, fresh alloy wheels, a revised tailgate with a larger licence plate, and renewed taillamps. The model was spotted recently and showed a panoramic sunroof. According to the spy images online, the new Seltos SUV will have a rotary drive selection (for the automatic variant) and two 10.25-inch displays inside, one for the infotainment system and the other for the instrument cluster. Mechanically, it will presumably continue with the same options available with the existing version: 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines. Another unit on offer could be a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol.

The beginning price of the upcoming Kia Seltos in India is anticipated to be a little higher than that of the present model, which costs Rs 10.89 lakh (ex-showroom). After the launch, Seltos SUV will compete against models like the Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor, Hyundai Creta, and more models in our market. 

Next-gen Tata Harrier & Safari

This holiday season could bring with it the much-awaited new Harrier and Safari SUVs from Tata Motors. Styling-wise, both SUVs could imitate the 2023 Auto Expo-debuted Harrier EV concept. As a part of the update, the revamped cars will likely have a new dashboard design, a larger touchscreen, a digital driver display, a twin-spoke steering wheel, powered front seats, etc.

Tata Safari 2023

There is no official announcement, but a panoramic sunroof will presumably be available. As far as powertrain is concerned, a 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine and manual and automatic gearbox options will remain in the SUVs. These new cars are anticipated to get a new 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine, capable of churning out 170bhp and 280Nm.

The revised Tata Nexon will soon hit Indian roads. In our market, the SUV has been spotted testing several times. There is no official update, however, market reports indicate that the revamped version of the Nexon is likely to arrive in India with an improved front and rear design.

On the inside, the upcoming Tata Nexon could get a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit. Talking of the powertrain, a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engines offered by the Nexon's predecessor are anticipated to remain in the updated version. Direct injection could perhaps result in higher power output for the petrol engine. Additionally, a brand-new DCT gearbox could be added. The starting price of the new Tata Nexon is expected to be around Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom). According to market reports, the most expensive model might cost up to Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom).
