Big automobile companies like Hyundai, Tata, and Maruti are consistently working on enhancing their range of hatchbacks. From price to design and mileage to safety, hatchbacks are coming up with a number of updates, which are pushing their sales in the country. For those looking to spend on compact-sized cars in the future, we have created a list of the most awaited small cars in India. These are expected to arrive in our market soon. So, let's have a look at them.

New-Gen Maruti Suzuki Swift

The new Maruti Suzuki Swift is expected to go on sale in 2024. It will use a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine with Toyota's powerful hybrid technology. It will have a fuel efficiency rating of around 35 to 40km/l. The anticipated model has created quite a buzz, given its high mileage figure.

Tata Altroz EV

In 2023, Tata Motors will roll out an electric version of the Altroz premium hatchback. The model is most likely to cost between ₹6 lakh and ₹10 lakh (ex-showroom). This EV will get a closed-off grille, different-looking front and back bumpers, star-patterned air dams, and new alloy wheels with blue highlights. The Ev will also feature Tata's improved Ziptron electric powertrain.

MG Air EV

This model is set to be launched in early 2023 at an expected price tag of ₹10 lakh. This EV model will offer more luxury than the Tata Tiago EV hatchback, according to the company. The Air EV will have a 20 – 25kWh battery and a 40bhp electric motor.

Hyundai Grand i10 Nios facelift

The car is expected to get a mid-life update most probably by next year. However, it will retain the same 1.2-litre NA, 1.0-litre turbo petrol, and 1.2-litre petrol CNG options. The latest version of the car is likely to be offered in new colour choices. It might also arrive with new upholstery on the inside, along with an updated rear bumper, revised headlamps with LED DRLs, a mildly different front grille, and new taillamps.
