Volkswagen India aims to take its used car business, Das WeltAuto, to the next level by offering a completely digital car buying & selling experience.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, carmakers like Volkswagen are seeing a surge in demand for affordable personal mobility solutions. In other words, people who have a limited budget and cannot afford to purchase a new vehicle are more-than-ever interested in purchasing cheaper & reliable used cars.

Thus, to tap this growing potential, VW India has launched Das WeltAuto (DWA) 3.0, a revamped version of its used car buying & selling business. DWA 3.0 focuses on a completely digital buying & selling process through its website. Plus, a Das WeltAuto Valuator mobile app allows customers to self-evaluate their used vehicle and then get in touch with a DWA dealer of their choice. They can simply negotiate the price and sell the car without any physical contact. The app's valuations are governed by the algorithms provided by the ‘Indian Blue Book’.

DWA facilitates buying & selling of pre-owned cars of all brands and is not restricted to customers looking to exchange their existing cars for a new Volkswagen car. DWA, apart from certifying each vehicle after inspection, also offers warranty (up to 12 months) & service packages for each vehicle. At present, 105 Das WeltAuto (DWA) outlets are operational across the country.

Sharing his thoughts on the enhancement of the used car business, Mr Steffen Knapp (Director - Volkswagen Passenger Cars India) said, 'Through the Das WeltAuto facilities and the business peripherals attached to it, Volkswagen aims to shift the used car business segment from an unorganized to organised segment. We intend to offer a digitally-enabled, professionally managed, value for money proposition to customers looking for individual mobility options. We are confident DWA will gain momentum and be relevant in the post COVID era.'
