Thar, Scorpio N, XUV700 and More Help Mahindra Register 20% YoY Sales Growth in September

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. sold the largest number of SUVs ever for the third continuous month, breaking all previous records. The XUV700, the Thar, the Scorpio N, and other SUVs performed well and led to higher sales in the past month, according to the Indian automaker. The company saw a 20% increase in domestic sales in September 2023 compared to the same month last year, selling 41,267 vehicles as opposed to 34,262 units. The car manufacturer shipped 2,419 units overseas in the previous month, which is a 5% drop from the 2,538 vehicles it sent in the same month in 2022.

The company's total automotive sales in September increased by 17% to 75,604 units, comprising exports, representing a rise in sales. When it comes to year-to-date sales, the manufacturer reported selling 2,14,904 units as opposed to 1,67,052 units in the same period the previous year, showing a growth of 29%. However, in the commercial segment, the automaker announced selling 23,997 units.

Mahindra claims that the previous month came to a successful conclusion for the business as one of its well-liked pick-up vehicles, the Bolero Maxx Pik-Up, passed the 1 Lakh Units Production Milestone in the nation. The automaker has noticed a significant demand for SUVs, which it believes will continue with the approaching festive season. Let's quickly review some of the firm's key accomplishments.

Mahindra Bolero Maxx Pik-Up Production Milestone

In our market, the Bolero MaXX Pik-Up range just crossed the 1 lakh unit production milestone. The carmaker asserts that it broke the commercial vehicle segment record and accomplished this milestone in just 16 months. The manufacturer further claims that a big part of the achievement was due to the new MaXX Pik-Up City, which went on sale in August of last year. A portfolio of eight new cars was also presented by Mahindra in April 2023. This range included more versions under the City range and the HD range in order to provide a variety of payloads and cargo lengths. Mahindra announced that more than two million units have been sold since the Pik-Up line first went on sale in 2001.

In India, the company introduced its new Bolero MaXX Pik-Up line in April of this year. The latest MaXX range is made up of the City and HD model series, with a total of 12 versions. The starting price for the Bolero MaXX City 1.3 LX CBC is Rs 7.85 lakh, while the top-of-the-line Bolero MaXX HD 2.0-litre LX costs Rs 10.33 lakh. Both are ex-showroom figures.

Mahindra Thar's Recent Price Hike

Mahindra increased the price of the well-liked Thar SUV in the nation after raising the cost of a few models, including the Scorpio N, the Scorpio Classic, and the XUV700. The price of the SUV has increased by Rs 43,500. The Mahindra Thar 4WD is now offered in the Indian market for a starting price of Rs 14.03 lakh for the petrol variant and a maximum price of Rs 16.94 lakh for the diesel option. In contrast, the Thar 2WD is priced between Rs 10.98 lakh and Rs 13.77 lakh. All are ex-showroom prices.
