About Renault Cars
Founded in 2005, Renault India is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Renault S.A. Renault entered the Indian car market through Mahindra Renault; a joint venture with Mahindra and Mahindra Group. Their first and only car launched under this venture was the Logan sedan.
While setting up camp, Renault established its global logistics network in India to supply spares to its manufacturing facilities worldwide. It also opened a bespoke design studio in Mumbai in 2008. Later, Renault ended its alliance with Mahindra in 2010 to form a new alliance with Nissan. The group started a new manufacturing facility in Chennai, as part of the new venture.
