About Renault Cars

Founded in 2005, Renault India is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Renault S.A. Renault entered the Indian car market through Mahindra Renault; a joint venture with Mahindra and Mahindra Group. Their first and only car launched under this venture was the Logan sedan.

While setting up camp, Renault established its global logistics network in India to supply spares to its manufacturing facilities worldwide. It also opened a bespoke design studio in Mumbai in 2008. Later, Renault ended its alliance with Mahindra in 2010 to form a new alliance with Nissan. The group started a new manufacturing facility in Chennai, as part of the new venture.

Starting afresh, Renault launched the Fluence sedan in 2011, which became the first-ever Renault car in India. A few months later, the global debut of the Koleos SUV took place. The carmaker launched the new Pulse hatchback and unveiled the Duster SUV at the 2012 Auto Expo in Delhi. The year ended for Renault with the launch of yet another model, the Scala.

Renault’s product line-up for India includes the Triber, the Kwid, and the Kiger, among others.
